Bridge or SLR camera as a high-end digital camera that is physically similar to DSLRs and share with them some advanced features, but share with compacts the framing photos using the live preview and sensor size small.

Superzoom bridge camera lenses often provide a very wide zoom range, generally between 10:1 and 18:1, which is achieved at the cost of some distortions, including barrel and pincushion distortion, a little more different from the lens quality. The camera is sometimes marketed as and with the digital SLR camera since the view is similar. Bridge camera and a lack of mirror reflex system DSLRs, have so far have been installed with a fixed (not distinguishable) lenses (although in some cases accessory wide-angle or telephoto converters can be attached to the lens), can usually take movies with sound , and both scenes are seen by the liquid crystal screen or electronic viewfinder (EVF). The majority have a built-in flash, which often use the unit flips up through the lens. Guide number tends to be between 11 and 15.
